I am going to break it down on how to buy the right size mat based on your weight, how many people are going to be using the rebounder, and what type of bouncing you plan on doing.
49 INCH MODELS
The 49 inch, their newest size, gives the deepest bounces. This feels more like a trampoline than a rebounder. This is one of my favorite for doing toning exercises as it gives deep bounces that don't have sudden G forces like a spring rebounder. So if you are doing arm exercises it makes it easier to tone.
The G force is the least when doing the Health bounce but give the highest G force when doing high bounces which is why it's my favorite size for toning. I do not recommend this size for lymphatic bouncing doing the Health Bounce.
See video on why its hard to do the Health Bounce with the 49 inch and why its great for toning.
If you are very heavy, you will have to jump higher out of the mat to gain G force and I recommend the balance bar with this size. The 49 inch gives the least amount of bounces but the deepest flushes as the 49 inch has the longest deceleration.
44 INCH MODELS
The 44 inch mat is somewhere in the middle. This gives slightly more bounces per minute than the 49 inch mat. The G force is slightly higher so you don't have to jump so high out of the mat to gain g force.
This model is still great for toning exercises but still too large to do the Health Bounce where you barely leave the mat with your feet.
39 INCH MODELS
This size is the most popular as it has the least coning in of the feet, especially when doing high jumps and deep decelerations. This gets the most bounces per minute and you don't have to jump so high out of the mat to gain G force. The 39 inch models are the safest. If you don't have bad balance problems you don't always have to get the balance bar with this size. The smaller the rebounders go in size the more bounces you can get a minute but you get less free bounces meaning that it takes more energy to bounce and a better workout. With the large mats, it takes more energy to get a higher bounce. Just like a big outdoor trampoline, it takes way more energy on a 17 foot trampoline than a 14 foot trampoline, exponentially.
